Admission Requirements
To apply, start the University of Minnesota graduate school online application. The Humphrey School admissions committee reviews all applications and decisions regarding admissions. Decisions are communicated through the graduate school online system.
Requirements + Prerequisites
- A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. university or foreign equivalent at time of enrollment.
- A preferred performance level for your undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
- Documentation of two years of paid or unpaid experience in a nonprofit organization in one or more of the following areas: management of a budget, supervision of staff, development of programs (implementation and evaluation), fundraising, grant writing, regular participation in board meetings and/or on board committees
- Competence in MS Excel and Word is strongly recommended for students in all programs.
- English language competence is required for students in all programs. Minimum TOEFL scores are: 250 computer-based; 600 paper-based; 100 internet-based (with a minimum of 22 on each individual section).
